Mikhail Mishustin: The construction of the SKIF ring photon source in Koltsovo and the design of the synchrotron-laser in Protvino continue

A year ago, our President launched the Decade of Science and Technology. One of the tasks set within its framework – it is to promote the involvement of researchers and developers in solving the most important tasks for the country. After all, it is not innovations in themselves, but the people who create them that provide technological sovereignty in all industries. This requires high-level specialists who are able to generate ideas, make revolutions, if you like, even revolutions in their disciplines.

Such work requires dedication, focus. And the Government has formed the conditions for scientific and practical activities.

We start helping from the “school bench”. To this end, last year we created 30 advanced engineering schools based on leading universities in different regions of the country, where students can continue their education under the guidance of mentors from the largest companies, working on solutions within real-life challenges.

On the same – initial – stage, you can get grants for scientific and technical development – half a million rubles each, as well as one million rubles for implementation by participating in the Student Startup competition.

Universities across the country have youth laboratories. They are equipped with the most modern equipment. Small innovative enterprises operate to bring science-intensive products to the market.

Having received such an in-depth education, a graduate can count on working in any major Russian company. Or stay in science.

New "megascience" objects are being built for fundamental research. – These are unique world-class scientific installations. By the end of this year, the commissioning of the NIKA collider is planned in Dubna. The construction of the ring photon source "SKIF" continues. in Koltsovo and the design of the synchrotron-laser in Protvino.
