Denis Manturov wants to return state control over the quality of industrial products

Against the background of growing demand for Russian products and restructuring of supply chains, the Ministry of Industry and Trade proposes to introduce a new type of state supervision in the Russian Federation — for the circulation of industrial products in order to control their quality. So the department intends to fight against unsafe and counterfeit products — after the reform of control and supervision activities (CND), a number of its types are not subject to state control. It is proposed to carry out supervisory functions to Rosstandart, which previously had this experience — however, previous attempts to return the authorities to the service were unsuccessful.
The explanatory note to the amendments of the Ministry of Industry and Trade does not contain explanations, what prevents customers from simply not buying low-quality products — and what caused the first abolition of state control of industrial products as part of the reform, and now its return. Moreover, the idea of ​​returning control was introduced to the government apparatus supervising the reform of the CPV several times since the fall of 2022, but was not supported, according to the project materials.
