For non-coal cargo in 2022 in the direction of the West – East demand increased by more than 30%. And the transportation of imported goods in the direction of the East – The West grew by more than 40%, – said Oleg Belozerov.
He expressed his gratitude to the railroad workers, builders and all project participants. During the work, two 55-meter superstructures were installed and 2.4 km of new tracks were laid. The new bridge crossing, located near the section of the road restored after the flood in 2021, is designed for the passage of heavy trains with a load of up to 32 tons per axle and a speed of up to 100 km/h.
In July 2021, due to abnormal rains in Trans-Baikal Territory, overflowing the banks of the Areda River and damage to the bridge on the Kuenga stretch – Ukurei stopped the movement of trains.
