Today, workers at the TMK plant in Romania will go to a rally due to sanctions
07.04.2022
Workers at the factories of the Romanian pipe manufacturer TMK Artrom in Slatina and Resita announced that on Thursday, April 7, they will hold a protest in front of the headquarters of the Romanian government, demanding the lifting of restrictions imposed on the company in the context of sanctions against the Russian owner. Employees strive to keep the company running and also want to keep management's access to the company's bank accounts to ensure normal operations. At the same time, the company referred to the decision of the ANAF tax service to freeze the accounts of TMK Artrom dated March 24. Most likely, TMK's challenge is based on the change in ownership of the TMK group, which occurred after a special operation in Ukraine.
The group was formerly owned and operated by Russian billionaire Dmitry Pumpyansky. Pumpyansky's actions were subsequently transferred to other persons not included in the list of oligarchs subject to international sanctions. Pumpyansky also resigned from all positions in TMK's management. However, it is currently unclear to what extent Pumpyansky still controls the TMK group.
