Schlumberger refrains from commenting on work in Russia

The attention of the participants of the Russian oilfield services market is riveted to the "big four". These are such oil service companies as Schlumberger, Weatherford, Halliburton, Baker Hughes. First of all, market participants are interested in the behavior of Schlumberger in Russia. Schlumberger, the world's largest oilfield services company, has been working with Russian oil and gas companies for many years.
Schlumberger was founded in 1926 by brothers Conrad and Marcel Schlumberger. Oilfield services company headquarters in the US and France. It was about the contracts of the subsidiary company Cameron Romania SRL (“« Cameron Romania) for the supply of equipment to Gazprom Neft Shelf, which is subject to the restrictions of Directive 4. The information from the US Treasury referred to equipment for the extraction or exploration of oil as part of the Gazprom Neft Offshore Arctic Shelf project. Schlumberger operates in more than 80 countries, including Russia and Kazakhstan. The company employs about one hundred thousand people. - Reservoir Characterization Group — carries out geophysical surveys to search for and determine the size of oil and natural gas fields. This includes divisions of geophysical research (WesternGeco, Wireline, Testing Services), software development (Software Integrated Solutions), coordination of the work of divisions of Schlumberger and other companies in this industry (Integrated Services Management).
- Drilling Group — develops and manufactures drilling equipment and performs drilling operations. Includes Bits & Drilling Tools, MI SWACO, Drilling & Measurements, Land Rigs and Integrated Drilling Services.
- Production Group — is engaged in the preparation of wells for oil and gas production and their subsequent maintenance in working condition. Includes Well Services, Completions, Artificial Lift, Well Intervention, Water Services, Integrated Production Services and Schlumberger Production Management.
- Cameron Group — manufacturer of equipment for the oil and gas industry.
