South Korean mobile phones, cars and other consumer goods are not subject to US export restrictions on Russia. This was stated by the South Korean Ministry of Commerce.
Among such goods, for example, Samsung smartphones, KIA and Hyundai cars, etc. The US Department of Commerce has also confirmed that these goods are exceptions to the so-called "foreign direct product rule". Provided that they are not supplied to users associated with the military sector.
"Foreign direct product rule"; applies to goods that were produced in another country using American software or equipment. Such products are considered American made and require US approval for export to Russia.
