Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak held a meeting on industrial safety and labor protection in the coal industry. The Vice-premier discussed the current state and prospects for reducing injuries in coal mining.
During the meeting, proposals were made by market participants aimed at reducing accidents during mining and transportation of coal. The preliminary results of the experiment on the introduction of a remote control system were also considered. It was noted that with the growth of coal production in Russia, the accident rate and injuries are reduced: if in 2010 there were more than 20 accidents and more than 100 deaths, in the last five years this figure has fallen to less than five accidents and just over 15 deaths.
"As a result of the implementation of measures for the “regulatory guillotine” the legal landscape in the field of industrial safety has changed significantly: more than 30 regulatory acts of Rostekhnadzor have been canceled, new federal norms and rules have been adopted aimed at reducing injuries in the industry”, – emphasized Alexander Novak.
