First Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov and Governor of Kuzbass Sergey Tsivilev met with employees of coal enterprises in the region, congratulated them on their professional holiday and presented awards. The solemn ceremony was held on the observation deck of the coal mine.
“Kuzbass remains the coal capital of Russia, although the region's economy is diversifying. For the coal industry to prosper, you need to make a lot of efforts – upgrade and reduce costs. I wish you good luck, success. I am confident that we will all cope with this burden together. I want to assure you that the Government is completely on your side and we will do everything to ensure the prosperity of Kuzbass, which is indeed a very important region, the industrial heart of our country, – Andrey Belousov said.

He also visited the first-aid post, where every day all employees of the enterprise undergo mandatory health checks before going to work.
Also, First Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov and Governor of Kuzbass Sergey Tsivilev held meeting with miners, where they outlined the prospects for the development of the coal industry.
“The world is very dependent on coal. For example, in India, 70% of thermal energy – it is solid fuel. In China – 60%. And these are the countries with the highest economic growth now and in the foreseeable future. We will have to compete with Australian coals, and not only. The leadership of the region understands this. Kuzbass has very good starting positions, and Kuzbass will cope with this challenge, – emphasized Andrey Belousov.
