CPC to replace equipment that caused oil spill near Novorossiysk

The Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) will replace equipment similar to the one that caused the oil spill near Novorossiysk on its remote mooring devices. The release of oil 6 km from the coast of the Black Sea occurred on August 7 during the loading of a tanker from the CPC terminal. On August 13, the company announced that it had dealt with the consequences of the oil spill.

The CPC press service reported that two independent organizations are carrying out a technical examination of the failed equipment. « In the near future, the hydraulic compensators will be replaced at the decommissioned TLU-1 ... In order to eliminate emergency situations, the hydraulic compensators will be replaced with new ones at all three TLUs, — says press release of the company . Delivery of the new equipment is scheduled for September.
