For seven months, Russian oil companies have reduced drilling of exploration wells by 21%. What caused the decrease in the indicator, the analysts of the FBA "Economy Today" figured out.
In January-July 2021, domestic oil companies reduced the scale of drilling exploratory wells by 21% compared to the same period last year, which is equivalent to 519.2 thousand meters. At the same time, the indicator in development drilling in the reporting period sank not so significantly, dropping by 4.9%, or 14,708 thousand meters.
According to the statistics presented, the company & laquo;Bashneft", which, according to the results of seven months of 2021, drilled 61% fewer wells compared to last year, which amounted to only 11 thousand meters. The indicator of development drilling business did not decrease so significantly, it fell by 1.3% compared to 2020 and corresponded to 296.1 thousand meters.

In the reporting period, LUKOIL reduced exploratory drilling by 31.8% year-on-year, which is 77.1 thousand meters, while the company reduced development drilling by 14. 8% for seven months, it reached 1857.9 thousand meters.
At the same time, development drilling by Gazprom Neft in seven months of 2021 decreased by 19.8% compared to January-July 2020, and the indicator of exploration drilling in the reporting period decreased by 5.2% and amounted to 2.6 thousand meters. more FBA "Economy Today"
