Glavgosexpertiza of Russia has studied the design documentation and the results of engineering surveys for the construction of a gas pipeline for backup gas supply to the Kostroma GRES. Based on the results of consideration of the submitted materials, a positive conclusion was issued.
Kostromskaya GRES – asset of the company "Inter RAO-Electrogeneration" - one of the largest and technically advanced thermal power plants in Russia, which has record-breaking figures for equivalent fuel savings among enterprises of its class. It ranks third in terms of installed capacity (3600 MW) and generates about 1, 5% of the total volume of electricity produced in Russia, which is supplied to 40 regions of the country. The annual supply of electricity is about 14 billion kilowatts per hour.
In the near future, Kostromskaya GRES intends to completely abandon the use of fuel oil, the main disadvantage of which is high emissions into the atmosphere, and switch to the use of "blue fuel" energy. After the gas pipeline for the enterprise's reserve gas supply is built, the project of which was reviewed by experts from the Glavgosexpertiza of Russia, Kostromskaya GRES will be able to close and recultivate Europe's largest fuel oil facility.
During the implementation of the project, a gas pipeline with a capacity of 1 million cubic meters will be built on the territory of the Komsomolsky and Furmanovsky municipal districts of the Ivanovo Region, the urban district of the city of Volgorechensk, the Nerekhtsky and Krasnoselsky districts of the Kostroma Region. m per hour from the gas flow measurement unit to the gas reduction unit. The length of this section will be 56.3 km. The branch gas pipeline will be connected from two main gas pipelines - "Pochinki - Yaroslavl" and "Pochinki - Gryazovets".
It is also planned to lay a gas consumption pipeline and a high-pressure gas pipeline from the gas reduction unit to the fence of the Kostroma GRES.
Engineering networks will be laid along the gas pipeline route, buildings included in the infrastructure of the linear facility will be built, and the necessary technological sites will be equipped.
