Ramis Tagiev, head of fire safety at PJSC Gazprom (2003 - 2015), elected Chairman of the Scientific Council of the "OPK" consortium.
Colleagues recall that during Tagiev's work at Gazprom, thanks to the developed and implemented fire safety system, there was no not a single fire.
Tagiev Ramis Mardanovich in the 80s was responsible for the fire safety of offshore oil production in the Caspian Sea, including platforms on the shelf of Turkmenistan.
In the early 90s, having moved to Moscow, he built a fire protection system for the joint venture Vietsovpetro. "Zarubezhneft". He worked at Marathon Oil Corporation (USA), then at Gazprom.

Basic principles of Ramis Tagiyev's work:
• The fire safety system of the facility must effectively eliminate any fire, both in the first days of its installation and 20 years after the start of operation.
The automatic fire extinguishing systems used must meet the following criteria:
• Provide 100% fire extinguishing and protection of adjacent equipment.
• Prevent re-ignition.
• Have minimal (several seconds) inertia.
• Eliminate the negative impact on the protected equipment when triggered.
• To be easy to maintain and optimal in price.
Fire safety — a moral and professional category, there is no place for people without conscience and dilettantes.
We must not allow obsolete, inefficient solutions to be included in projects. This, during the operation of the facility, can lead to fires, which, at the risk of their lives, will be eliminated by firefighters.
According to Tagiyev, it is extremely important to develop and introduce innovative scientific developments into the fire protection system, contributing to an increase in the level of fire safety of objects.
This is the activity of the consortium "OPK" priority. The consortium is actively engaged in fire protection against hydrocarbon fires, the temperature of which exceeds 1000 degrees Celsius. In particular, a constructive protection of the OPK-ZFO has been developed that provides functional resistance to fire of process equipment and the prevention of fire escalation.
Elastic fireproof covers of OPK-ZFO — effective fire protection. They can significantly reduce the damage that can be caused by fire at refineries, offshore platforms, ships and military installations.
Another innovative product being introduced by the consortium — flexible pipeline in the system of foam and water fire extinguishing. The flexible conduit is made of special, fire-resistant reinforced rubber. It facilitates the work of the designer, is explosion-resistant, not subject to corrosion for the entire period of operation of 30 years. The pipeline is successfully operated at Gazprom's facilities.
The unique development of the consortium — water-film, mesh, heat-shielding screen "Sogda". Due to its design, the screen reliably protects the personnel and equipment of the facility by reducing the level of heat flow from a fire by 50 times to safe values.
The consortium's innovative developments are supplied to Kuwait, Israel, China, and the United Arab Emirates. GOST has been approved for heat shields, which makes them widely used at fuel and energy facilities.

The video shows a fire with tragic consequences on the offshore platform No. 2 of the Gunashli field, which occurred after the departure of Ramis Tagiyev from Azerbaijan. During Tagiev's tenure as head of fire safety at Kaspneftegazprom fires and accidents happened at the facilities. However, marine firefighters rescued people and not a single oil worker died.
