Recently, one of the largest deliveries of foreign technological equipment to the territory of the Russian Federation took place. In ten days, three out of nine barges were unloaded at the berth in Ust-Kut, seven pieces of equipment for the Irkutsk Polymer Plant were transported, including – the three largest. The first of the largest shipments was a quenching water column 54.6 meters long and weighing 305 tons. On August 27, she was successfully transported from the pier on the Lena River to the prepared site on the territory of the enterprise under construction. On it, the project team worked out the intricacies of the processes of unloading and transportation. A self-propelled modular transporter 40 meters long, carrying a column, was on the road for more than 7 hours, and its average speed did not exceed 1 km / h. The unloading at the IZP site was carried out with pinpoint precision.
Then the purge hopper of the product (53.5 m, almost 500 tons), which is part of the polyethylene production unit, was reloaded onto a transport platform and transported. Then the reactor intended for ethylene polymerization and polyethylene production (44.5 m3, 597 tons) was unloaded.
June they went to Russia. Within three weeks, the vessels covered 8.5 thousand kilometers to the Russian bay of Tiksi – including the Northern Sea Route. In the bay, the equipment was reloaded onto nine sea-class barges for transportation along the Lena River. In August, the fleet traveled 3,600 km up the Lena. The whole journey by water took almost two months. Unloading in Ust-Kut began on 24 August. Until September 20, all 45 pieces of equipment will be delivered to two sites on the territory of the plant under construction.
