Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov visited the scientific and technical center of the Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) in Skolkovo. The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia got acquainted with the modern laboratory and research complex of the Scientific and Technical Center, and also got acquainted with a promising project for the production of high-quality hot-rolled and cold-rolled flat products from stainless and corrosion-resistant steel grades and alloys.

The Scientific and Technical Center established by TMK and Sinara Group, put into operation at the end of 2019 for the development, digital modeling and complex testing of materials, structures and technologies. It is equipped with high-precision research equipment, as well as test benches with the ability to stretch, compress, bend pipes and other hollow metal structures with the application of external and internal pressure and the creation of extreme temperature conditions. In particular, Denis Manturov was shown a modern laboratory and research complex of the STC — the only one in our country, one of five in the world.

"Timely investment in the creation of such scientific and technical centers is the key to subsequent success in promoting products both in domestic and foreign markets. Previously, domestic companies stood in line for pipe testing, but today it has become possible to do this in Russia. We invite foreign colleagues to test our products at our laboratory,” the head of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade emphasized.

Denis Manturov noted that at the moment work is underway with Rosstandart to develop standards for pipes used in housing and communal services. This will positively affect the quality of public services, including through the effective fight against counterfeiting and falsification. The presence of a modern high-precision laboratory and the development of high-quality materials will be a good help to develop the best standards.

STC TMK and Sinara Group — this is a new element of the ecosystem of the Skolkovo innovation center, which will create high-tech jobs and provide unique opportunities for professional growth to new generations of Russian engineers and researchers. The center is equipped with a modern testing and laboratory complex and is intended primarily for the development, digital modeling and complex testing of innovative materials, structures and technologies. It will employ about 400 employees, scientists and researchers.
