Natural gas desulfurization unit to be built at Yurkharovskoye field

27.08.2020

The Ekaterinburg branch of the Glavgosexpertiza of Russia reviewed the project documentation and the results of engineering surveys for the construction of technological facilities of the complex at the industrial site of the field in the Tyumen region. Based on the results of the state examination, a positive conclusion was issued.
The Yurkharovskoye oil and gas condensate field discovered in 1970 – the main mining asset of NOVATEK, located in the Nadymsky district of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District of the Tyumen Region. The license for geological exploration and production of hydrocarbons on the territory of the field is held by NOVATEK-YURKHAROVNEFTEGAZ LLC, a subsidiary of an oil and gas company.
The design documentation approved by the Yekaterinburg branch of Glavgosexpertiza of Russia provides for the construction of a unit for natural gas purification from sulfur-containing compounds included in its composition, which are a catalytic poison for the steam reforming catalyst of a methanol production unit.
Technological facilities of the complex - a desulphurization unit, pipelines for piping and a lightning rod - will be placed on a pile foundation of the blower room within the boundaries of the complex gas treatment unit. Gas supplied from the complex gas treatment plant will pass through the unit, with subsequent supply of purified gas to the methanol production unit with a capacity of 40 thousand tons per year and to the integrated pilot plant for the production of methanol with a capacity of 12.5 thousand tons per year. tons per year of the Yurkharovskoye oil and gas condensate field.
The developer is NOVATEK-YURKHAROVNEFTEGAZ LLC. The design documentation was prepared by JSC "Sibneftetransproekt" Siberian Institute for Designing Enterprises of Transportation and Storage of Gas, Oil and Oil Products.

The Yurkharovskoye oil and gas condensate field is NOVATEK's main production asset. The western part of the field is located on the Tazovsky Peninsula, and the central and eastern parts are located in the basin of the Tazovskaya Bay - drilling of the offshore part of the field is carried out from land using horizontal wells.

Year of discovery of the field 1970 Start of production 2003 License holder NOVATEK-YURKHAROVNEFTEGAZ LLC Type of license Exploration and production License valid until 2034 Proven gas reserves (SEC) 165 billion cubic meters m Proved reserves of liquid hydrocarbons (SEC) 6 million tons

The field is connected to the unified gas supply system by its own gas pipeline. Transportation of unstable gas condensate to the Purovsky Plant is carried out via its own condensate pipeline.
In 2016, the Cenomanian field at the field was brought to its design capacity, which is provided by 18 wells. Construction was completed and a 48 MW Cenoman gas booster compressor station was put into operation. The fourth stage of the BCS with a capacity of 25 MW was put into operation, which increased the total capacity of the station to 300 MW.
