According to preliminary information, about 3.5 cubic meters of diesel fuel leaked into the soil, according to the results of a visual inspection, diesel fuel is leaking through the ground into the Alazeya River. Power engineers of the production unit of the branch "Srednekolymsky Distribution Zone" JSC "Sakhaenergo" pumped diesel fuel from the damaged tank to neighboring tanks. It is planned to create a trench between the river bed and the tank to stop the seepage of diesel fuel.

On June 22, employees of PJSC RusHydro together with representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, the Lena Department of Rostekhnadzor, The Ministry of Ecology of Yakutia and the Environmental Prosecutor's Office of Yakutia arrived at the scene of the incident. Elimination of the consequences is carried out with the involvement of a professional rescue organization. Booms have been placed and sorbent has been sprayed, work to eliminate the consequences continues.

As of 18.00 Moscow time, seepage into the river has been stopped. Diesel fuel is being pumped out of the dug trench into reserve tanks.

The course of work to eliminate the consequences is under the special control of the Ministry of Energy of Russia and the Government Commission for Ensuring the Security of Electricity Supply (federal headquarters) until complete completion of work.
