Last September 2009, the state corporation Rosatom announced its readiness to take part in the creation in the Nizhny Novgorod region of a bench-test base for import-substituting equipment that will be used for the production of liquefied natural gas in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation. Previously, on the territory of JSC «NIIEFA» a permanent liquid nitrogen test rig was built to test cryogenic pumps for medium-sized LNG. It tested the first LNG pumps manufactured by OKBM Afrikantov, which is part of the engineering division of Rosatom.
