A plant for the production of carbamide and ammonia will be built in Kingisepp

EuroChem, one of the world's leading producers of mineral fertilizers, and the Italian company Maire Tecnimont signed a memorandum of intent on the possibility of building a new plant for the production of urea and ammonia in Kingisepp , in the north-west of Russia, subject to the further implementation of this investment project. According to the document, Maire Tecnimont will carry out preliminary engineering and survey work on the territory adjacent to the existing production facilities of EuroChem. in Kingisepp. In the future, the parties may conclude a contract for engineering, supply and construction of the facility. The value of the future EPC contract is estimated at 1 billion euros.
In the summer, EuroChem has already launched one ammonia plant in Kingisepp with a capacity of 1 million tons per year, the general designer of which was also the Italian company Maire Tecnimont. The main consumers of products of the new production – enterprises of the company "EuroChem" in Belgium and Lithuania, as well as the Phosphorit plant; in Kingisepp. Investments in the project amounted to about $1 billion.
Earlier it was reported that the capacity of the EuroChem plant in Kingisepp will amount to 1 million tons of ammonia, 1.2 million tons of urea and 1.7 million tons of methanol per year. The project is being implemented to develop the infrastructure of the plant in Kingisepp, where at the industrial site of the Phosphorit plant a resource cluster has been created with gas, railway and throughput of the port of Ust-Luga.
