Sakhalin-1 Project implemented under the terms of a production sharing agreement. The project operator with a 30% share is Exxon Neftegas Ltd, Rosneft — 20%, from the Japanese Sodeco — 30% and Indian ONGC — 20%. Several options for gas monetization from this project were considered. First — construction of a new plant "Far East LNG" "Rosneft" near the village of De-Kastri, the second — sale of gas for the third stage at the operating Sakhalin-2 LNG plant; (Gazprom owns 50% in the project operator Sakhalin Energy).
