Azerbaijan wants to restore production of oil and gas equipment
20.09.2019
The Azerbaijani government held talks with the transnational company BP, during which it proposed to develop the production of equipment for the oil and gas complex. In the Soviet Union, Azerbaijan was the main center of oil and gas engineering, but gradually lost this status. Azerbaijan's cooperation with BP has been going on since 1994, immediately after the collapse of the USSR, so there are good prerequisites that a Western company can transfer some technology to develop the production of competitive equipment.
BP is involved in the implementation of the following projects in Azerbaijan: the development of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli, Shah Deniz fields, the development of the Shafag-Asiman block, D-230, Southwestern Gobustan, the shallow waters of Absheron, Alov-Araz-Sharg , the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline and the South Caucasus pipeline.
BP is a transnational oil and gas company headquartered in London. The company owns 20% of PJSC "Rosneft". The main shareholders of BP are American investment companies.
