Block transformer worth about 70 million rubles put into operation at Smolenskaya CHPP-2

"Square" invested 68.7 million rubles in a new unit transformer at Smolenskaya CHPP-2.
According to the managing director of PJSC "Quadra" - "Smolensk Generation" Andrey Kulaev, the old transformer has been operating since 1980, the high degree of wear of which led to a decrease in energy production.
He noted that the new transformer will increase the safety of electrical equipment and ensure the reliability of power supply to consumers.
The transformer increases the low-voltage current from the turbogenerator tenfold, thereby ensuring the transmission of electricity produced at the CHPP- 2, long distance.
