"Transneft" will pay compensation for "dirty" oil in the amount of up to $15 per barrel
25.07.2019
Board of Directors of Transneft approved the maximum amount of compensation to shippers for oil pollution in the Druzhba pipeline — $15 a barrel, the company said.
"The Board of Directors approved the procedure for making payments in connection with the entry of slop oil into the system and agreed on the maximum amount of payments to shippers under service contracts for the transportation of oil at the rate of $15 per 1 barrel of substandard oil, — noted in the message.
Consignors must document the losses incurred.
Previously, the official representative of "Transneft" Igor Demin reported, that the compensation settlement mechanism will be common for all shippers.
According to the leading expert of the National Energy Security Fund Igor Yushkov, the amount of compensation corresponds to the discount provided by the sellers of contaminated oil in Ust-Luga, namely — $15 per barrel.
Compensation will apply only to the sold substandard oil, Yushkov notes. Polluted oil, which was forced out of Poland and Belarus and stored in Russia, will most likely be brought to normal parameters and sold at a market price, he believes.
At the same time, according to Yushkov's estimates, the payments will not entail for Transneft #139;
