Rosseti continues to reconstruct one of the most powerful substations in Moscow
23.07.2019
As part of a large-scale reconstruction of the substation (SS) 220 kV "Novobrattsevo" in the Northern Administrative District (SAO) of Moscow by power engineers of the Rosseti Moscow Region company; (PJSC "MOESK") installed and switched on power transformers T-5 and T-6 with a capacity of 40 MVA each. Newly installed power transformers are installed in the 20 kV switchgear building and supply power to the closed switchgear (ZRU) 6 kV. ; is carried out in accordance with the Company's Investment Program to improve the reliability of energy supply to consumers in the capital.
Power engineers carried out the modernization of the substation in several stages, without interrupting the power supply to consumers. At the previous stages, during the reconstruction of the supply center, construction and installation works were carried out, buildings of the control room, switchgear 20 kV, switchgear 10 kV were built and installed in them: switchgear 220 kV and switchgear 110 kV, two autotransformers of 250 MVA, two transformers of 100 MVA and 4 booster transformers of 63 MVA each.
A powerful substation provides electricity to such densely populated areas of Moscow as Voikovsky, Tushino, Levoberezhny, Golovinsky and the Khovrino microdistrict.

Replacing the equipment at the substation also contributes to its energy efficiency. Head of the Electric Regime Service of the Moscow High-Voltage Networks Branch Irina Ogienko added that as a result of transformer power optimization, transferring the load from the 110 kV network to 220 kV, the technical losses of electricity in the adjacent 110 kV network are reduced and the consumption of electricity for the own needs of the Novobrattsevo substation is reduced.
In absolute terms, the decrease in technical electricity losses during the implementation of this measure for the year will be at least 300 thousand kWh. The resulting savings will allow, in aggregate, to free up enough power to power consumers of almost 50 apartments in a modern high-rise building for a whole year (with an average specific load of 0.7 kW).
