By order of the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, changes were made to the name of the government commission on issues of the fuel and energy complex and reproduction of the mineral resource base. The order expands the name of this body – to the words "commission on the fuel and energy complex and reproduction of the mineral resource base" added “and increasing the energy efficiency of the economy.”

Let us recall that the government commission on issues of the fuel and energy complex and reproduction of the mineral resource base was formed to ensure interaction between federal executive authorities, executive authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and organizations in order to create conditions for the sustainable development and functioning of sectors of the fuel and energy complex, energy supply, energy saving, meeting the needs for energy and mineral resources.

The Commission ensures consistency in the actions of executive authorities in developing and implementing the main directions of state policy in the field of the fuel and energy complex, as well as in preparing measures aimed at reproducing the mineral resource base, developing the main directions for improving legal regulation in this area, analyzes the activities of executive authorities and organizations in the field of geological study, rational use and protection of subsoil, development of infrastructure facilities, reform of the electric power industry and restructuring of the coal industry, foreign economic activity of organizations of the fuel and energy complex, as well as the implementation of long-term development programs and investment programs of natural monopolies of the fuel and energy complex.

The Government Commission considers proposals for structural reforms, tariff and pricing policies in the fuel and energy complex, determines measures aimed at meeting the needs of the domestic market for energy resources, increasing the investment attractiveness of the fuel and energy complex and the reproduction of mineral resources. raw material base.
