Alexey Orlov approved as head of Kalmykia

Deputies of the People's Khural of Kalmykia approved the candidacy of Alexei Orlov for the post of head of the region, the region's press service reported.

Recall that Orlov previously served as first deputy chairman of the regional government and was the permanent representative of the republic to the President of the Russian Federation. His candidacy as the new head of the republic was submitted to the parliament of Kalmykia on September 21 by President Dmitry Medvedev.
