The parties highly appreciated the Russian-Serbian partnership in the gas sector. It was noted that Gazprom is a reliable gas supplier to the republic. Demand for Russian gas in the country is steadily growing. From January 1 to November 28, 2017, the company exported 1.85 billion cubic meters to Serbia. m of gas — 26.2% more than in the same period last year, and already by 6% more than in the whole of 2016.

The meeting also discussed options for developing the gas transmission system of Southeast Europe to ensure reliable supplies of Russian gas to European consumers and, in particular, Serbia. Alexey Miller briefed Alexander Vucic on the progress of the Turkish Stream project. It was noted that the construction of the gas pipeline is on schedule, work is currently underway in the exclusive economic zone of Turkey. To date, 30% (555 km) of two strings of the offshore section of the gas pipeline have been laid in the Black Sea.

Turkish Stream — a gas pipeline project from Russia to Turkey across the Black Sea and further to Turkey's border with neighboring countries. The first string of the gas pipeline is intended for the Turkish market, the second — for the countries of Southern and South-Eastern Europe. The power of each thread — 15.75 bcm m of gas per year. Construction of the offshore section of the Turkish Stream began on May 7, 2017.
