Import of equipment for Yamal LNG may become duty-free

Equipment for "Yamal LNG" may be exempted from import customs duties.
the subcommittee on customs-tariff, non-tariff regulation, protective measures in foreign trade of the government commission for economic development and integration found it expedient to supplement the list of categories of goods for which a special customs procedure can be established with technological equipment (components and spare parts for it), analogues which are not produced in Russia. Such equipment is imported into the Russian Federation as part of the implementation of the Yamal LNG project. and intended for the plant for the production of liquefied natural gas of the Yuzhno-Tambeyskoye gas condensate field on the Yamal Peninsula.
No duties are paid and non-tariff regulation measures (prohibitions and restrictions) are not applied to the goods specified in the list.

A project to build a 16.5 million ton liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant LNG is sold annually at the resource base of the Yuzhno-Tambeyskoye field by Yamal LNG. The shareholders of the company are OAO "Novatek" - 50.1%, Total - 20%, CNPC - 20%, Silk Road Fund - 9.9%. The start of LNG production is scheduled for 2017.
