Today at the central office of OAO "Gazprom" the signing of scientific and technical cooperation programs for 2015-2020 took place between Gazprom; and leading Russian pipe manufacturers: CJSC United Metallurgical Company; (OMK), OAO Severstal, OAO Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) and OAO "Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant" (ChTPZ).
Alexey Miller at a meeting with the heads of pipe companies in Vyksa in September this year, taking into account the need to expand work on import substitution.
The implementation of the programs will further improve the efficiency of construction and operation of gas production, transportation and processing facilities, provided that the equipment meets the highest modern requirements. Pipe companies will expand the range of their products and increase their competitiveness.
For example, the programs provide for the production of pipes with increased cold resistance, with thermal insulation, with high-pressure threads,
as well as pipes for offshore gas production and for operation in aggressive environments. For the construction of onshore gas pipelines, it is planned, in particular, to create large-diameter pipes of a high strength category — up to K90 (X120) (currently pipes up to K65 (X80) are used) — capable of operating at high pressures. The use of such pipes will reduce the metal consumption of promising gas pipelines, make gas transportation over long distances more economical by reducing the number of compressor stations.
