Launch of production of 500-750 kV shunt reactors at the Nevsky Transformer plant

Nevsky Transformer Plant (part of Inter RAO – Mashinostroenie) has officially announced the expansion of the product range and the readiness for serial production of 500 kV and 750 kV voltage class bypass reactors. The presentation of new capacities and the flagship product, the ROM—60000/500 single-phase oil reactor, took place as part of the Customer Day with the participation of Russia&s largest electric grid, generating and scientific organizations.
Shunt reactors are a critically important element of the main transmission lines. They compensate for excess reactive power, stabilize voltage levels, minimize losses during energy transportation, and increase the overall reliability of the power system.
Key competitive advantages of ROM-60000/500
The new development of the plant has successfully passed a full range of tests in the modernized Research and Testing Center of the enterprise. According to the test results, the pilot sample demonstrated characteristics significantly exceeding industry standards.:
- energy efficiency: the level of losses is 19% lower than the requirements of the STO FGC;
- Low noise and vibration levels: the recorded vibration values significantly exceed the established standards.;
- High performance accuracy: the deviation of the volt-ampere characteristic is only 0.15% when 110% of the rated voltage is applied.;
- full compliance with the standards: all indicators are guaranteed and verified by the own accredited laboratory of Nevsky Transformer LLC.
Successful tests allow the company to enter mass production.
