Tula region to expand production of components for oil and gas

At the XXIX St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Government of the Tula Region and Energomash LLC signed a cooperation agreement aimed at developing the production of components for the oil and gas sector. The document was signed by Dmitry Milyaev, Governor of the Tula Region, and Denis Pashkov, CEO of Energomash. The total investment in the project will amount to 500 million rubles, which will stimulate investments in machine tool construction and accelerate the localization of components for oil and gas on the basis of local production.

The project provides for the expansion of the range of products at the site of the enterprise in Shchekinsky district. As part of the agreement, Energomash intends to localize the production of critical components previously supplied from abroad, a key step in localizing supplies for oil and gas. It is planned to increase the production of parts for gas compressors and other components of oil and gas equipment, which will increase the production of parts for gas compressors and strengthen supply chains for oil companies.

The company, founded in 2014 in Shchekino, has already localized the manufacture and repair of about 95% of gas compressor parts and assemblies and is actively developing the production of oil and gas equipment. Energomash cooperates with leading Russian oil companies, providing supplies of components for oil companies and participating in import substitution programs. The expansion of production will complement the company&s efforts to develop the production chain: through a co—founding structure, Tula Tool and Machine Tool Company LLC, the first domestic metalworking machine was developed and produced; a prototype was presented at the Metalloobrabotka-2026 exhibition. It also reflects plans for the development of machine tool industry in Russia and further investments in machine tool industry.

The expected effects of the project include reducing the dependence of the oil and gas industry on imports of critical components, strengthening local production competencies, and increasing the supply of domestic components to large Russian companies. Investments can also stimulate job creation, the development of related industries and an increase in the share of domestic components for oil and gas in regional and federal supply chains. In the medium term, the project is able to support the production and repair of gas compressors in the domestic market and expand the production of oil and gas equipment of domestic origin.
