The Yamal deposits of the Nurminskaya Group are being prepared for industrial development
03.06.2026
The Russian government will make a decision on licensing the three largest oil and gas sites of the Nurminskaya Group in Yamal. According to Alexander Kozlov, the head of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, referring to the instruction of the president, the ministry is already working on this issue in detail, writes TASS.
Currently, the Nurminskoye, Rostovtsevskoye and Sredneamalskoye fields form the last key reserve of the undistributed hydrocarbon fund in the region. The rights to develop them have not yet been assigned to subsurface users. The involvement of these sites in the turnover is designed to cover the domestic demand for raw materials and strengthen the country&s export potential.
Evaluation criteria and economic impact
The Cabinet of Ministers will make a decision on issuing licenses based on a comprehensive analysis of the following parameters:
- Strategic alignment: the balance of reserve development with the general objectives of Russia&s Energy Strategy development.
- Foreign economic vector: accounting for current vectors of hydrocarbon sales on world markets.
Putting the assets of the Nurminskaya Group into commercial operation will significantly expand the resource base of the fuel and energy complex. For the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the launch of projects will become a driver of large-scale infrastructure construction and ensure an influx of investments into the regional economy.
