The use of HDD in the construction of linear power supply facilities in Tatarstan

TatEnergoStroy has successfully completed a large—scale project for the construction of linear construction facilities - an electricity supply system for outdoor lighting of the M-12 expressway. The work was carried out on a turnkey basis during 2025 on sections of the Naberezhnye Chelny and Nizhnekamsk electric networks.
During the implementation of the project, specialists laid almost 40 km of overhead and about 10 km of cable power transmission lines, installing more than 1,100 poles. For stable operation of the system, 45 transformer substations with capacities from 25 to 63 kW were put into operation.
Technological and organizational features:
• Landscape preservation: At the intersection of communications and difficult sections of the route, the cable was laid using horizontal directional drilling (HDD), which is the standard when working with modern linear facilities.
• Resources: 7 production sites, more than 50 specialized experts and 20 units of specialized equipment participated in the implementation of the project at the same time.
The launch of the lighting system on the M-12 has become an important stage in the development of the region&s transport network, significantly increasing the safety and comfort of traffic on the federal highway.
