The first solution for measuring tubing using neural networks has been certified in Russia

The VizorLabs hardware and software complex for measuring tubing length received a positive conclusion from Rosstandart and became Russia&s first certified solution for monitoring the length of tubing using computer vision. Thus, the system has officially confirmed the status of a pipe measuring instrument and can be used in regulated industries where accuracy and metrological reliability are critically important.

The VizorLabs solution combines a camera at the wellhead, high-frequency sensors and a local computer into a single system for automatic pipe measurement at the well. During operation, the complex analyzes the video stream and data from sensors in order to accurately determine the depth of the BCC, monitor the progress of operations and ensure the measurement of pipes with computer vision in real time.

According to the company, the accuracy of forming the pipe measure reaches 99.7%, and the confirmed error is 0.3%, which is equivalent to about 3 meters per 1000 meters of well. This result makes the system in demand as a complex for measuring tubing and as a solution for monitoring pipes during well repairs, where stability and repeatability of measurements are especially important.

According to the conclusion No. 104-10-5650 dated February 2026, issued by SIC PM – Rostest, the test results fully comply with the stated characteristics. The inspection was carried out on the basis of an accredited testing center and confirmed the correctness of the documentation, methods and metrological parameters of the system.

As a result of the procedure, VizorLabs became the only company in Russia with a certified solution for measuring pipes using neural networks that was verified by Rosstandart for type approval of measuring instruments. Information about the new type of measuring instrument is included in the federal information fund for ensuring the uniformity of measurements until 03/20/2031.
