New CHINT circuit breakers and drive technology: replacement of European brands for refineries

CHINT, one of the world's leading manufacturers of electrical equipment, has presented an updated development strategy for the Russian market in 2026. The main focus is on the vendor substitution of products from departed European concerns and ensuring the technological independence of domestic oil refineries.

Large-scale localization and growth

A key factor in supply stability was the launch of its own CHINT plant in the Moscow Region at the end of 2025. Localization of production allows the company not only to reduce the time of shipments, but also to adapt the equipment to the specific requirements of the Russian fuel and energy complex. According to the plans, the volume of supplies of low-voltage equipment in 2026 will reach 8 billion rubles, which is three times higher than in the previous period.

Technological solution: NS8 series

For the needs of petrochemicals and oil refining, the company is launching a new line of NS8 circuit breakers. The devices are designed specifically for effective protection of asynchronous motors:

• Multifunctional: the device combines the functions of a circuit breaker and a thermal relay, saving space in the panel equipment.

• High reliability: The increased breaking capacity (Icu) guarantees uninterrupted operation of power systems in conditions of high inrush currents.

• Direct replacement: The NS8 series is positioned as a full-fledged analogue of premium European solutions that meet all industry safety standards.

Development of the Motor Drive segment

At the same time, CHINT is expanding its offer in the field of drive technology. New frequency converters and soft-start devices have received improved communication protocols for integration into modern digital control systems (ACS). This allows the refinery to modernize its equipment while maintaining a high level of process automation.
