The production of high-tech blenders for hydraulic fracturing is localized in Ugra.

Nizhnevartovsk Welding Technology company has transformed from a service company into a full-fledged machine-building design bureau. The plant presented the Blender 2.0 installation, its own development for hydraulic fracturing, adapted to the extreme conditions of the Arctic.
The production of specialized equipment for oil and gas production has been launched in Nizhnevartovsk (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra). According to the Ugra Department of Industry, the local Welding Technology company has successfully implemented a project to create an upgraded Blender 2.0 mixing plant. The equipment is a critical element of the hydraulic fracturing fleet and is designed to prepare and inject technological mixtures into the well.
From reengineering to in-house production
The path to creating a production model began with a deep modernization of the previous version of the installation ("Blender 1.0"). In the course of their work, Welding Technology engineers acted as a design bureau, implementing a number of unique technical solutions.:
• Thermal protection and climate adaptation: an author's heat exchange system has been developed that allows the equipment to operate smoothly in the conditions of the Far North and the Arctic zone.
• Design changes: a fuel tank with increased capacity and optimized configuration has been designed and manufactured.
• Mobility: the new version of "Blender 2.0" is mounted on the base of a semi-trailer, which simplifies the logistics of equipment between fields.
The entire cycle, from design to production of the finished unit at our own factory, took less than one year.
Development strategy and the oilfield services market
The company's participation in the international INNOPROM exhibition became the impetus for business scaling. Direct contacts with the largest oilfield service holdings allowed Welding Technology not only to find customers, but also to enter a new segment for itself — the overhaul and production of turnkey special equipment.
The company's plans for the near future include the expansion of production facilities in Nizhnevartovsk and the development of partnerships with vertically integrated oil companies (VICS) interested in Russian equipment for production intensification.
It should be recalled that the Ugra machine-building cluster is showing high activity: earlier, the production of all-terrain logging equipment started in Surgut, which confirms the region's course towards diversifying the industrial sector.
