UEC supplied the second gas turbine GTD-110M for the energy system of the South of Russia

09.09.2025

The United Engine Corporation (UEC), a part of Rostec, has manufactured the second high—power serial gas turbine, the GTD—110M. The unit has completed factory tests. Now it will be sent to an energy facility to provide electricity to the southern regions of Russia, the UEC press service reported.
The gas turbine unit has successfully completed a full cycle of acceptance tests. All systems have confirmed their operability and compliance with technical requirements. This equipment for the electric power industry will take its place as part of the generating capacities of a large power plant in the Rostov region. The previous turbine of a similar modification operates at the Udarnaya thermal power plant in the Krasnodar Territory.
Factory tests have demonstrated the achievement of an estimated capacity of 115 MW. The engine has confirmed the declared technical characteristics for stable operation in industrial conditions. The development and manufacture of the gas turbine unit is carried out by the UEC-Saturn enterprise.
Oleg Yevtushenko, Executive Director of Rostec, noted the strategic importance of the project. "Rostec participates in solving the key task of developing the Russian energy system. UEC&s production facilities are establishing serial production of domestic high-power GTD-110M turbines. At the moment, this is the only Russian unit of this class. Industrial enterprises have sent the second serial product to customers. The next deliveries will strengthen the country&s energy independence."
The high-power gas turbine unit is designed to operate as part of generator sets. Such equipment for the electric power industry is used in gas turbine and combined cycle power plants with a capacity of up to 500 MW. The GTD-110M has a single capacity of 115 MW with an efficiency of over 36%. These figures correspond to the world&s best examples of gas turbine equipment.
UEC CEO Alexander Grachev emphasized the import-substituting nature of the development. "The GTD-110M was created for the Russian market and is aimed at replacing foreign turbines. The first serial product has been operating at the Udarnaya thermal power plant in the Krasnodar Territory since October 2024. The installation provides energy supply to the southern territories. It is planned to produce an additional turbine of this type by the end of the year."
GTD-110M meets the technical parameters of foreign competitors. The Russian development surpasses its analogues in terms of weight and size characteristics, which facilitates transportation and installation. Such equipment for the electric power industry demonstrates excellent fuel efficiency. The design includes cast impeller blades and advanced technical solutions that enhance the reliability and efficiency of the turbine unit.
