Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev spoke on the Rossiya 24 TV channel about significant achievements in the field of domestic technologies and the production of energy equipment. Modernization of the fuel and energy complex became possible largely due to Western sanctions.
The head of the department stressed the importance of creating own equipment for the energy industry. Such products must comply with international quality standards.
"Today we have made a significant leap in this area. Many technologies and related equipment are now produced domestically. Our developments and equipment are ahead of the products of foreign manufacturers in a number of parameters," the minister noted.
Tsivilev recalled the previous situation in the industry. Russian enterprises in the fuel and energy sector mainly used imported technologies and equipment.
"This approach seemed like a simple solution - you pay and get the finished product. Now we realize the negative consequences of such a strategy. We did not develop this segment of the economy and created a critical dependence on suppliers! Western partners have become excellent mentors, forcing us to reconsider our approaches. Modernization of the fuel and energy complex has made our economy more efficient and more competitive," concluded Tsivilev.
Import substitution in the energy sector has opened up new opportunities for the development of domestic industry and the strengthening of technological sovereignty.
The Minister of Energy also stressed the importance of cooperation between the fuel and energy complex and all federal executive authorities.:
"The task of the Ministry of Energy is to bring together the entire industry order," Sergey Tsivilev emphasized. It is necessary to determine what is required for the industry by year and submit this consolidated order for execution. Practically all federal executive authorities of the Russian Federation act as executors of the industry order.
For example:
• An order is being formed for the Ministry of Industry, which indicates how much and which equipment, by year and by installation points, needs to be manufactured.
• An order is being drawn up for the Ministry of Education to train specialists: how many, which, in which specialties, in which region and in which years they need to be trained so that they can go to work in the fuel and energy complex (fuel and energy complex).
