Andrey Brizhak has been appointed Minister of Coal Industry of Kuzbass

The Governor of Kuzbass, Ilya Seredyuk, held a working meeting with the Minister of Coal Industry of the region, Andrei Brizhak.

During the working meeting, the Governor of Kuzbass, Ilya Seredyuk, not only highly appreciated the work of the Minister of Coal Industry of the region, Andrei Brizhak, but also emphasized his significant contribution to the development and justification of state support measures for Kuzbass coal enterprises. Having a deep understanding of the industry and close contact with the mine teams, Brizhak ensured that regional needs were taken into account when forming federal support programs.

From the mine to the ministerial chair

Andrey Brizhak is a key figure in the modern coal industry in Russia. Since 2025, he has held the post of Minister of the Kuzbass Coal Industry and is responsible for the fate of one of the most important industries in the region. His professional career, which began in 2007 at the Vladimirskaya mine in Kemerovo, is a vivid example of career growth from an ordinary specialist to the head of the ministry.

A graduate of Kuzbass State Technical University (KuzSTU) specializing in surface and underground construction, Brizhak focused his career on ensuring safety in coal mining. Starting from the position of head of the ventilation and safety section, he consistently improved his qualifications and held senior positions. He headed the safety department of coal mining enterprises in the Department of Coal Industry of Kuzbass. In 2021, Brizhak was appointed deputy minister, and in 2025, replacing Oleg Tokarev, he became head of the ministry.

Today, Brijak is facing serious challenges: the industry is going through a crisis, including the closure of mines and problems with coal logistics. However, his experience and deep understanding of the specifics of the coal industry allow him to effectively solve these problems.

In addition to administrative work, Andrey Olegovich actively participates in scientific life, speaking at conferences and lecturing at specialized universities, sharing his experience with future industry specialists.
