Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev emphasized the need to strengthen control over the production of equipment for the fuel and energy complex (FEC) in the Far East. He noted that ensuring import independence in this area remains one of the region's key tasks.
According to Trutnev, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, together with the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East, have created an interdepartmental working group that is engaged in the development of technological competencies in the Far Eastern Federal District and is aimed at producing products with high added value. Particular attention is planned to be paid to the modernization and expansion of the production base of traditional Far Eastern industries - mechanical engineering, machine tool manufacturing, automotive manufacturing and the production of unmanned systems.
Trutnev also emphasized that the development of domestic technologies and production capacities in the Far East is directly related to the economic security and sustainability of the region in the face of external restrictions.
