Gazprom Neft has discovered significant oil reserves in Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Yugra
24.04.2025

The site is being developed by a joint venture between Gazprom Neft and Rosneft — “Slavneft-Megionneftegaz”. Currently, about 150 thousand tons of oil are produced here annually.
When drilling the first well in new oil-bearing strata, an impressive inflow of up to 400 tons of oil per day was obtained, which significantly exceeds the industry average. The volume of geological reserves in the new formations is estimated at more than 3 million tons.
According to Sergey Doctor, Head of the Production Department of Gazprom Neft, the discovery of new deposits became possible thanks to the use of modern geological exploration and drilling technologies, which make it possible to find promising areas even in mature fields.
The peculiarity of the discovered oil is its high quality and the absence of water, as well as a low content of impurities, which increases its value.
Head of Slavneft-Megionneftegaz Alexander Barinov noted that this discovery was the result of systematic work by a team of specialists and the implementation of innovative solutions aimed at increasing production efficiency.
A multi-hole horizontal well has already been built to develop new reserves, which allows for a significant increase in production volumes while reducing the number of drilling rigs. By the end of 2025, it is planned to commission 13 more such wells.
