Modernization of the industrial sector of Russia is gaining momentum. This was stated by the first deputy head of the government Denis Manturov during a working visit to Kuban. He visited the Southern Plant of Heavy Machine-Tool Building (YuZTS) and held a meeting on the development of the machine tool industry.
Russian machine tool industry has shown steady growth over the past 10 years. In 2024, machine tool production increased by 40% in monetary terms. Tool production increased by more than 10%. An important growth factor was orders from the defense industry.

A new national project with a budget of 52 billion rubles has been launched to further develop the industry. It combines the efforts of science, the state, regions and manufacturers. Particular attention is paid to the creation of large-scale centers for processing large parts.
Manturov proposed to legislatively prohibit the purchase of foreign equipment in the presence of Russian analogues. This will help support domestic manufacturers. By 2030, it is planned to achieve full technological sovereignty in critical components.
The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov spoke about new support measures. A grant program of up to 50 million rubles is being prepared for the commercialization of developments. It is planned to launch preferential lending for small and medium-sized manufacturers. 25 companies will receive consultations on increasing production efficiency.
YUZTS demonstrates impressive results of modernization industrial sector. Over the year, the company increased its production area from 16 to 90 thousand square meters. Production volumes from 2021 to 2025 will increase 14-fold. The plant produces modern large-sized centers for processing large parts, including milling and boring machines with a Russian CNC system.
The company also develops 3D metal printers.They work using selective laser melting technology and are ready for serial production. Plans include launching a foundry and developing heavy machine repair services.
