Testing of Burlak all-terrain vehicles in extreme conditions of Chukotka

22.01.2025

As part of the large-scale project "Safe Arctic - 2025", the Russian Emergencies Ministry will test specialized equipment in the extreme conditions of Chukotka. Innovative all-terrain vehicles created at the production base of OOO “All-terrain vehicles “Burlak” in Kurgan were selected for testing.
Three snow and swamp-going vehicles will operate in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. One of them is the latest prototype with improved characteristics. Two more vehicles are already serving in the Emergencies Ministry units. The equipment independently reached its destination from Yakutia over complete off-road conditions.
The engineers have significantly improved the design of the “Burlak”. They took into account all the comments revealed during the previous tests. Particular attention was paid to strengthening the chassis and transmission. This significantly improved the vehicle's cross-country ability and smooth movement.
The start of the second stage of the expedition is scheduled for January 15 in the city of Pevek. The route runs through the mainland part of the region. The all-terrain vehicles will visit 12 settlements. They will have to cover 2,385 kilometers with an altitude difference of up to a kilometer. The final point will be the Valkarkai weather station, where the equipment should arrive on January 31.
These tests are extremely important for the development of domestic all-terrain vehicle manufacturing. They will help evaluate the reliability of the equipment in real Arctic conditions at temperatures down to -50°C. Successful completion of the tests will open up new prospects for the use of Burlaks in rescue operations in the Far North.
The company "Burlak All-Terrain Vehicles" actively cooperates with large enterprises in the field of resource extraction and government agencies. All-terrain vehicles of this brand are used in all Arctic regions of Russia, as well as in Antarctica.
