The German company Siemens was supposed to supply equipment to the Akkuyu NPP in Turkey. But the paid equipment was not delivered. This was stated by Alexey Likhachev, Director General of the Rosatom State Corporation, to Russia 24: "Obviously, there will be lawsuits. The pre-paid equipment was not delivered. It brought us additional costs both for the specific purchase of equipment and for adjusting the installation dates for this equipment. These claims will be made."
In December 2024, the installation of the turbine was completed at power unit No. 1 of the Akkuyu NPP (Turkey). The event was timed to coincide with the visit to the site by the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Alparslan Bayraktar and the Director General of the State Corporation Rosatom Alexey Likhachev.
