The Zvezda shipbuilding complex has currently reached the design level and has all the necessary modern technologies for the construction of large-tonnage civilian vessels.
The construction of the Zvezda shipbuilding complex in the city of Bolshoy Kamen, Primorsky Krai, began on the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation in 2009. In 2013, a consortium of private investors headed by Rosneft, which also became the anchor customer of the project, was attracted to the creation of a new shipyard. This decision was made taking into account the practical experience of the Chief Executive Officer of PJSC NK Rosneft in creating projects of this scale. Thanks to this decision, the project received a powerful impetus for development. In just a few years since the start of production activities at the shipyard, key technological tasks were solved, the main facilities were put into operation. Throughout the implementation of the project, the President of the Russian Federation monitored the progress of construction of the main production facilities and repeatedly visited the Zvezda shipyard site. In particular, during his visits, V.V. Putin personally launched the construction of the largest dry dock in Russia and participated in the ceremony of commissioning a unique heavy outfitting slipway. The head of state took part in the keel-laying of new vessels, including supply vessels and Aframax tankers, in the naming ceremony of reinforced ice-class vessels. In 2019, the Russian President visited the Zvezda shipyard together with the Prime Minister of India N. Modi to inspect key facilities and get acquainted with new unique technologies in the field of shipbuilding. Today, Zvezda Shipyard is the most modern shipyard in Russia, specializing in the construction of all types of large-tonnage civilian vessels, icebreakers and marine equipment. In total, 12 vessels have already been launched at the shipyard, and more than 20 more vessels out of more than 60 in the company's order portfolio are actively under construction. The total deadweight of orders exceeds 3 million tons.
