During his visit to the United Arab Emirates, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Mikhail Ivanov, together with Deputy Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology of the United Arab Emirates Osama Fadel, took part in the opening of the Russian exposition within the framework of the International Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference ADIPEC 2024.
The Russian exposition was located on an area of ​​more than 1,100 sq. m., and about 70 domestic enterprises in the oil, gas and petrochemical industries demonstrated their competencies.
Mikhail Ivanov also held a number of bilateral negotiations. During meetings with Deputy Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology of the United Arab Emirates Omar Al Suwaidi and Senior Vice President for Government Relations and Business Development at BAPCO Energies Sheikh Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the current status of cooperation in the oil and gas engineering sector was discussed, as well as the possibility of using INTI standards and certification system to promote Russian oil and gas equipment in the Middle East markets.
In addition, Mikhail Ivanov took part in the fifth meeting of the Russian-UAE Subgroup on Certification and Standardization of Oil and Gas Equipment, the main goal of which is to harmonize Russian and UAE standards for oil and gas equipment.
“It is very valuable that in the current conditions of revision of the entire system of international relations, we continue to actively develop cooperation in the oil and gas industry. The format of interaction in the form of a working group, the meeting of which was held today for the 5th time, made it possible to achieve tangible success in this area: the Emirati side issued positive conclusions on more than 40 INTI industry standards and is ready to include them in procurement activities, and Russian manufacturers, in turn, are beginning to undergo requalification in the UAE according to these standards,” Mikhail Ivanov emphasized during the meeting.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue interaction on current issues, as well as to consider the possibility of expanding the positive experience of work to the hydrogen energy industry.
The meeting was held on the eve of the next meeting of the Working Group on Industry, Investment and Innovation of the Russian-Emirati Intergovernmental Commission, which will be held on November 13-14 in Dubai (UAE)
