Denis Paramoshin left the post of General Director of Salym Petroleum Development LLC. The company is implementing the Salym project. This is a complex of works for additional exploration and development of the Salym group of oil fields, located in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug (120 km southwest of Surgut and 30 km west of the village of Salym). As reported "Vedomosti& quot; «Salym Petroleum Development» received a license for the geological study of the underlying horizons of the Verkhnesalym subsoil plot in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. According to the registry, the license was issued on December 29, 2023 and is valid until the end of 2028. It includes the search and evaluation of oil and gas fields.
Previously «Salym Petroleum Development» was one of the oldest joint ventures (JVs) in the Russian oil and gas industry – it was created in 1996. Until 2022, 50% of the project belonged to subsidiaries of Gazprom Neft. and Anglo-Dutch Shell – «GPN – Middle Eastern projects» and «Khanty-Mansiysk Oil and Gas Union» respectively. After the start of the SVO in February 2022, Shell announced its withdrawal from Russia and that its representatives left the board of directors of Salym Petroleum Development. The losses of the Anglo-Dutch company from leaving the joint venture in the first quarter of 2022 amounted to $233 million, and losses from leaving Russia as a whole were estimated at $4.2 billion.
In August 2022, the Arbitration Court of the Moscow Region granted the application of Gazprom Neft. on the transfer of the joint venture from Dutch jurisdiction to Russian jurisdiction. The company also demanded to limit Shell Salym Development’s right to vote at a meeting of shareholders, the right to buy out shares at actual value and the right to dispose of shares in the authorized capital until 2024 (Vedomosti wrote about this on August 22, 2022). At the end of December 2022, the joint venture participants agreed to sell the share to Shell «Gazprom Neft», in February 2023 they received permission for the transaction from Russian President Vladimir Putin. At the beginning of March 2023, «daughter» «Gazprom Neft» bought Shell's share in the project.
The company owns six licenses for the fields of the Salym group: West Salymskoye (recoverable oil reserves of category C1+C2 amount to 96 million tons), Verkhnesalymskoye (25 million tons), Vadelypskoye (18 million tons), Yuzhno-Yamskoye (projected recoverable oil reserves of category D1 are 7 million tons, D2 – 0.6 million tons), Vostochno-Shapshinskoye-1 (resources for D1 – 9.5 million tons, for D2 – 0.2 million tons) and Salymskoye -2.Oil production within the project is about 6 million tons per year. «Vedomosti» sent inquiries to «Salym Petroleum Development» and «Gazprom Neft».
