Gazprombank Leasing Group summed up the results of its activities for the nine months of 2023: the volume of new business reached 710 billion rubles including VAT. This is 128% more compared to the same period last year. The number of new transactions concluded during the period increased by 112% and amounted to 84,722 leasing agreements.
The main driver of new business growth during the reporting period was the truck leasing segment: growth was 228% compared to the same period last year. The segment of road construction equipment grew by 130.8%, passenger cars – by 89%.
The remaining segments also grew, and one of the significant events for the development of the Gazprombank Leasing Group’s business was the financing of supplies of sea and river vessels worth almost 12 billion rubles with VAT.
Motor transport continues to be a driver of growth in the leasing market due to unsatisfied demand associated with the ongoing shortage. There is also a demand for used vehicles, including those used in road construction.
Statistics show that the penetration of leasing into investments in the country's fixed capital is growing. At the end of nine months of 2023, the industrial production index increased by 3.3%, which stimulates the leasing of industrial equipment. The Gazprombank Leasing Group increased its equipment financing volumes by more than three times compared to last year.
“Today, market conditions allow us to grow our business, despite the increase in the key rate. Leasing continues to be one of the priority financial instruments to support the operational activities of our clients, as well as to launch new projects. Infrastructure projects are developing, logistics parks of retail, car sharing and large cargo carriers tend to scale. We can see this by increasing the Group’s position in the auto business (truck and passenger segments), which grew by 165% over nine months. We plan not to slow down until the end of the year,” – Maxim Kalinkin, Executive Vice President of Gazprombank, General Director of the Gazprombank Leasing Group, comments.
